Collection of thirteen vintage news photos featuring eight Hall of Famers and several notable players. While we do not believe any of these photos are original, they are all vintage and appear to have been used for publication numerous times. The most unusual photo is a hand-trimmed closeup (6.5x4") of Mordecai Brown's disfigured pitching hand (the pinky finger has been torn away). Additional photos are those of Ruth and Gehrig posing on the field with a young boy, Roger Bresnahan, Ty Cobb, Cap Anson, Mordecai Brown (3 examples), Fred Merkel (4 examples), and Nick Altrock. Sizes range from 3.5x9" to 8x10." As working press photos, all display flaws consistent with their former use, including, but not limited to, editorial markings front and back, editorial shading, trimming, small tears, creases, and tack holes. Fair to Good condition overall. These photos have not been evaluated by PSA, therefore no guarantees are made regarding any specific type designation.
