Official American League (Cronin) baseball signed by Hall of Fame umpire Nestor Chylak on a side panel. Chylak has inscribed the ball "To: Robert/Best Wishes/Nestor Chylak Jr./A.L. Umpire." Both the inscription and signature have been scripted in blue ink and grade 6/10 overall. Chylak was an American League umpire from 1954 to 1978 and the fact that this ball dates from the 1960-1969 manufacturing period indicates that it was almost certainly signed during his active career. Chylak died in 1982 but wasn't elected to the Hall of Fame until 1999. As a result, his signature is scarce today, especially alone on a baseball.
