Kansas City Royals road jersey worn by outfielder Joe Keough during the 1972 season. This is a rare one-year style jersey that was worn by the Royals only during the 1972 season. 1972 was also the last year the Royals wore flannel jerseys, as they made the switch to knits in 1973. The blue flannel jersey is lettered "Kansas City" on the front and features the number 16 on the reverse. All letters and numerals are applied in blue tackle twill. Both the set number and year ("Set 1-72") are chain-stitched in blue upon a blue strip tag in the collar. A Wilson 42 label appears on the left front tail. A Kansas City team patch appears on the left sleeve. Although no name appears on the jersey, Joe Keough was the only Royals player to wear number 16 during the 1972 season. The jersey is original as issued and displays light use. This jersey was originally obtained directly from the Kansas City Royals and is accompanied by a portion of the original mailing envelope.
