Rare retail advertising display featuring Rocky Marciano in promotion of "Slim Jim" bow ties. The cardboard display captures a full-length image of Maricano in a boxing pose, along with a inset portrait of him wearing a "Slim Jim" bow tie. A paper caption affixed to the base promotes Marciano's upcoming World Heavyweight title bout against Don Cockell at Kezar Stadium in San Francisco, California, on May 16th. Although no year is listed, research indicates that the bout between Marciano and Cockell took place in 1955. The piece (9.75x13.25"; visible dimensions), which is printed on heavy cardboard stock, is framed, so we cannot see the reverse, but it may have an easel back, as it appears to be a counter display. There is a tiny ink mark and a few tiny abrasions near the base, otherwise it is Excellent to Mint in its overall appearance. Matted and framed to total dimensions of 14.25x17.75".
