Crisp circa 1910s Type I photo features Ty Cobb and a very important non-player standing in front of the Detroit Tigers dugout. The Georgia Peach is alongside a dapperly-clad Robert W. Woodruff, both staring intently at the camera. Measuring 6x4.5", the image displays superb clarity and focus, and is in nice condition with just a small crease to the lower left corner. It's possible that this was taken before a game against New York, as the back is dotted with five Brown Brothers stamps as well as pencil IDs of both subjects. Woodruff's presence is highly significant, as he was President of Coca-Cola, in which Cobb invested in its early years resulting in great wealth, and Cobb retained a relationship with Coke throughout his life. Images of Cobb and Woodruff together are exceedingly rare and this would make a great addition to any collection featuring the intimate business partnership the Hall of Famer enjoyed with the company.
