Hall of Famer Brian Leetch is one of the all-time great defensemen in NHL history. Offered is a 1995-96 Brian Leetch New York Rangers twice-signed game-worn nylon jersey. Leetch played 17 years with the New York Rangers 1987-88 through 2002-03, and following that, a season with the Toronto Maple Leafs and a season with the Boston Bruins. Leetch scored 247 goals in the NHL and added 781 assists, for 1,028 points. Leetch scored 100 points in 1992. In 1993-94, Leetch was a key contributor to the Rangers' Stanley Cup triumph as in the regular season he scored 23 goals and had 56 assists for 79 points. In the playoffs that year, Leetch was phenomenal. In 23 playoff games, he scored 11 goals and added 23 assists for 34 points. He was the NHL leader in playoff assists, points, plus/minus (at 19), and game-winning goals (4). That year, Leetch was awarded the Conn Smythe Trophy as the NHL's playoff MVP, the first player born in the United States to win the Conn Smythe Trophy. In 1995-96, the year Leetch wore the offered jersey, Leetch scored 15 goals and had 70 assists for 85 points. Leetch was a 5-time All-Star, a 2-time Norris winner as the NHL's best defenseman, and Calder Trophy winner as the 1987-88 Rookie of the Year. Leetch is on the NHL's 100th Anniversary Team, and he is in the Hockey Hall of Fame and the International Ice Hockey Hall of Fame. The offered white mesh jersey has red and blue trim. Across the chest is RANGERS in sewn-on red block letters, with blue trim. Each sleeve has a number 2 in a blue sewn-on numeral with red trim. The top of the "2" on left sleeve has come loose. On the left chest is a sewn-on A (for alternate captain), in blue with red trim. The back has LEETCH in sewn-on blue letters with red trim. Below the player's name is a sewn-on numeral 2 in blue trimmed with red trim. Leetch has signed the jersey twice, on the front and back. In both signatures, Leetch used a black marker and signed in big, bold script. The jersey shows nice use with pilling, paint transfers, and slash marks. Under the tail is #2, Set 1, 95-96 tag. A Gerry Cosby manufacturer's tag in is in the neck with size 52 tag as well. The neck also has a CCM tag, with washing instructions. Leetch is one of only six defensemen in NHL history to score at least 100 points in a season: Bobby Orr, Paul Coffey, Al MacInnis, Denis Potvin, and Erik Karlsson being the only others, so this double-signed Leetch New York Rangers game-worn jersey makes a great item of remembrance.
