Unusual original Type I photograph capturing New York Yankees first baseman Lou Gehrig and Cleveland Indians outfielder Earl Averill during a game in 1938. What is strange here is that the photograph features a flopped image, with Gehrig's glove on his left hand (he was a lefty thrower) and the image of Gehrig and Averill transposed on the field. The N.E.A. photo features a date stamp of "Aug 8 1938" on the reverse, along with a handwritten editorial notation that reads "Reverse Print - Gehrig chases Averill." The photo (9x7") displays light crazing and tiny crease along the right border. PSA encapsulated as Type I Authentic.
