Amazing and rare 1921 ticket stub from the first-ever World Series game of arguably the most recognizable sports franchise in the world, the New York Yankees. Stub measures 2.25x2.75" and is from the October 5 contest at the Polo Grounds, in which the Yanks defeated the New York Giants, 3-0. Yellow stub has clear print for the Upper Grandstand seat, with only a touch of paper loss to the generally-good tear. Some rounding is visible at the corners and a crease is evident on close inspection; the back displays significant paper loss, apparently from removal of a piece of clear tape. This is the primary culprit as PSA has encapsulated the historic piece as STUB PR 1, though it retains a great look on the front; attendance of just over 30,000 is listed for that game, and only 10 examples of this stub have ever been submitted to PSA for grading, with only three higher. With the Polo Grounds hosting the entire series, the teams alternated each game as the "home" team, with the Giants rallying to capture the best-of-9 series in eight games.
