Seagram's Seven Crowns of Sports trophy presented to the Cincinnati Bengals' Anthony Munoz as the NFL's top offensive lineman for the 1981 season. This is one of the most impressive sports trophies ever issued, notable for both its size and weight. The design features a silver-colored cylinder atop which sits the Seagram's logo of a "7" topped by a crown. Seven medallions are attached around the cylinder, each bearing the emblem of one of the sports that make up the Seagram's Seven Crowns of Sports: Football, Baseball, Basketball, Hockey, Golf, Tennis, and Horse Racing. The engraving on the front reads "Seagram’s/SEVEN CROWNS OF SPORTS/FOOTBALL/OFFENSIVE LINEMAN AWARD/ANTHONY MUNOZ/1981." The trophy (26.25" in height; 6" in diameter) displays moderate wear, including light tarnishing and several small nicks, dings, and scratches. Munoz was in just his second NFL season in 1981, but, as this trophy indicates, he had already established himself as the game's top offensive lineman. Considered by many as the best left tackle in NFL history, Munoz helped lead the Bengals to their first Super Bowl appearance in 1981. That season also marked the first of eleven straight years that Munoz was selected as All-Pro at his position (nine first team and two second team). He was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1998. Please Note: The size and/or weight of this lot will necessitate an increased shipping charge.
