Cincinnati Bengals jersey worn by quarterback Jeff Blake during the 1998 season. Lelands has photo-matched this jersey to one worn by Blake in three specific games during the 1998 season: September 20th vs. the Green Bay Packers at Cinergy Field (Getty image #337395), November 1st vs. the Denver Broncos at Cinergy Field (Getty image #72442630), and November 8th vs. the Jacksonville Jaguars at Alltel Stadium (Getty image #72539338). The black mesh jersey features the number 8 on the front, reverse, and each shoulder. "Blake" is lettered upon a black nameplate on the reverse. All letters and numerals are applied in white on orange tackle twill. Located on the left front tail are a Champion 44 label and a second Champion label reading in part "Designed & Tailored by Champion Exclusively for the Cincinnati Bengals 1998-1999." A Bengals team patch appears on each sleeve. The jersey is original as issued and displays outstanding use, including fraying to the stitching on the letters and numerals. Blake, who had been the Bengals starting quarterback for the previous three seasons, saw limited action in 1988, appearing in just eight games, with two starts. He finished the year with 739 passing yards and 3 touchdown passes. He retired after the 2005 season with 21,711 passing yards and 134 touchdown passes.
