Vintage photograph picturing Brooklyn Dodgers teammates George Pfister, Joe Black, and Jackie Robinson posing together on the steps of the dugout; signed by Black and Robinson atop their respective images. PSA has encapsulated the photo and certified each signature as "Authentic." Both Black and Robinson have scripted their names in blue fountain pen, with Black's signature grading 6/10 and Robinson's grading 8/10. This photograph comes with the special provenance of originating directly from George Pfister's personal collection. Pfister played with the Dodgers only in 1941, but in 1952 he returned to Brooklyn as the club's bullpen coach. Pfister's coaching tenure with the Dodgers was limited just to that one season, which allows us to conclusively date the photo to 1952. (The photo can also be dated to 1952 because of the headline "Walter Winchell vs. The Post" seen on the newspaper lying on the bench in the background; Winchell and the The Post engaged in a year-long legal battle in 1952.) The photo (9x7"), which has no markings on the reverse, displays several light-to-moderate creases. While we believe this to be an original photo from the period, especially given its provenance, PSA evaluated the autographs only and not the photo, so no guarantees are made regarding any specific Type designation.
