Collection of twenty-one vintage Babe Ruth photographs capturing the fabled "Sultan of Swat" through several decades. Only two of the photos picture Ruth in uniform. Instead, this collection chronicles Ruth's life at home with his family, attending public events, and interacting with players and kids. Included among the more interesting photos are Ruth attending the funeral of his first wife Helen in 1929, Ruth playing Santa Claus at a department store, Ruth and his wife Helen presiding over a parade (a pencil notation on the reverse reads "Boston 1919), Ruth signing a photo at his home for Hank Greenberg, Ruth presenting Jimmie Foxx with his All-American Baseball Team certificate, Ruth leading the Van Nuys Orphans Boys Band, Ruth posing with Ty Cobb and Tris Speaker at the first New York Yankees Old Timers Day in 1947, Ruth at Yankee Stadium during Babe Ruth Day in 1947, and Ruth posing with Bob Considine, who he collaborated with on his autobiography.
