Pair of full tickets to each of the two Joe Louis and Max Schmeling heavyweight bouts held, respectively on June 18, 1936 (actually held on June 19), and June 22, 1938, at Yankee Stadium. These were two of the most important bouts in boxing history due to their sociopolitical ramifications at the time. Held during the rise of Adolph Hitler and Nazi Germany, Schmeling, a German, upset Louis, an African American, in the first bout, handing the "Bronx Bomber" his first loss with a twelfth-round knockout. Louis avenged that loss in emphatic fashion by knocking Schmeling out in the first round of the second bout. 1) First bout on June 18, 1936 (actually held on June 19). Full voided proof ticket (six cancellation holes). Ringside seat. 7.25x3.75. GD-VG, with corner creases. 2) First bout on June 18, 1936 (actually held on June 19). Full voided proof ticket (three cancellation holes). Mezzanine seat. 7x2.5. VG-EX, with light staining on reverse. 3) Second bout on June 22, 1938. Full ticket. Ringside seat. 7.25x2.75". EX. 4) Second bout on June 22, 1938. Full ticket. Lower Stand seat. 7.25x2.75". EX.
