Washington Senators road jersey worn by third baseman Ken McMullen in 1969. The gray flannel jersey is lettered "Senators" across the front and features the number "2" on the reverse. All letters and numerals are applied in red on navy tackle twill. A "Wilson 44" label appears in the collar. The year, "1969," is chain-stitched in navy on the left front tail. A Major League Baseball "100th Anniversary" patch, which was worn by every Major League team in 1969, adorns the left sleeve. McMullen has signed the jersey in black marker (grading 9/10) on the left front tail, directly above the year. The 1969 Senators road jerseys did not feature name tags, but McMullen was the only player to wear number "2" with the Senators that season. The jersey is original as issued and displays outstanding use, including light soiling on the front. Ken McMullen joined the Senators in 1965 and was the club's starting third baseman for over five seasons before being traded to the California Angels just after the start of the 1970 season. 1969 represented McMullen's finest overall season with the Senators, as he finished the year with 19 home runs, 87 RBI, and a .272 average. He retired in 1977 with 156 home runs, 606 RBI, and a .248 lifetime average.
