Presented are two 1938 Cincinnati Reds team-sized album pages, including the signature of Willard Hershberger. Other signatures: Paul Derringer, Gene Schott, Bill Myers, Lonnie Frey, Whitey Moore, Lee Gamble, Johnny Vander Meer, Bucky Walters, Willard Hershberger, Lew Riggs, Ival Goodman, Frank McCormick, Joe Pascarella, Ray Davis (2), Hall of Famer Ernie Lombardi, Dusty Cooke, Dan Long, Nolen Richardson, Hank Gowdy (coach), Wally Berger, Edd Roush, (a Hall of Fame outfielder as a player, now a coach), Tom Weaver, Bill McKechnie (Hall of Fame manager). The 1938 Reds finished in 4th place in the National League. Ernie Lombardi batted .342, with 19 home runs and 95 RBIs. First baseman Frank McCormick batted .327, and outfielder Ival Goodman blasted 30 homers, with 92 RBIs. Pitcher Paul Derringer went 21-14, and pitcher Johnny Vander Meer pitched back-to-back no-hitters, the only MLB pitcher to have ever done so, and went 15-10 on the year. Sadly, Willard Hershberger, who was the back-up catcher to Ernie Lombardi in 1938, was still in that role in 1940, and on August 3rd of that year, in a deep batting slump, Hershberger took his own life, the only active Major League player to have committed suicide during the season in Major League history. The first sheet of the album pages has some discoloration, in an area approximately 1.5x3.25" that is on the first page, over the title of the signature page and the Derringer and Schott signatures, but the title and the two aforementioned signatures are still clearly visible. The signatures average 8/10. The album pages contain some signatures of all-time Cincinnati Reds' greats.
