Nice compilation piece featuring a crisp autograph from Hall of Famer Tris Speaker, as well as a very rare Speaker card with an intriguing history. The backing is a black scrapbook page or card stock measuring 8.75x6.5", with the top left corner bearing a cut signature which is graded NM-MT 8 by PSA/DNA. Below it is a clip of a News Service photo showing The Gray Eagle sliding safely into home, with caption noting that it's from a game against the Boston Red Sox. The top right corner bears a 2.75x1.75" card, identified today as a rare 1915 Susini #212 card showing Speaker swinging a bat. Because he is wearing a dark uniform - which he never wore during his MLB career - identifying the photo conclusively had been a mystery for roughly a century until photos surfaced from a tour of London in which Speaker participated, wearing the dark uniform of the touring Chicago White Sox. Back has a 5.5x6.25" posed image of Tris about to swing the bat. Encapsulated by PSA/DNA as Cut Auto with the aforementioned grade of NM-MT 8.
