1949 Warren Spahn Jimmy Fund die-cut counter sign, together with its original manila envelope. This sign comes with the special provenance of having once resided in the personal collection of Braves catcher Phil Masi. It was issued as part of a large fundraising campaign by the The Jimmy Fund, a Boston charity for children's cancer research. The sign, which has an easel back so that it can stand freely, was intended for use next to a collection box on a local merchant's counter. As noted by a label on the reverse, at the end of the fundraising drive, the sign was to be given to the person who made the largest contribution. The cardboard sign (approximately 9x10"), which was never used, remains in Near Mint condition. The envelope (12.5x9.5") remains in Excellent condition.
