One-page handwritten letter, undated, signed by Jackie Robinson. PSA has encapsulated the letter and graded the signature NM-MT 8. In his letter, Robinson writes to "Jerry" and explains why he cannot accept his invitation to attend an unspecified event. In full: "I wish I could accept your very kind offer to be your guest but baseball is my work and right now my time is so limited I don't have time for my family. Thanks again I hope I will be able to accept someday." Signed "Jackie Robinson." Both the text and signature are scripted in blue fountain pen. The letter (5x5.5"), which has been trimmed to its current dimensions, displays a horizontal fold. Although the letter is undated it is accompanied by a clipped postmark (presumably from the original mailing envelope) bearing the date "Apr 15 1954."
