One page handwritten letter, undated, signed by Jackie Robinson. PSA has encapsulated the letter and certified the signature as "Authentic." In his letter, written on his personal letterhead to a young man named Ronnie Engle, Robinson offers sage advice on balancing sports and education. In full: "May I make one suggestion Ronnie. Get as much of an education as you can because making the major leagues is very hard and only a very few of those that desire make the grade. Love of the game and desire are very important but you naturally must have ability. With ability you practice as much as you can and try to learn all you can about the game. Still I can [not] emphasize education enough." Signed "Jackie Robinson." Both the text and signature are scripted in blue ink and grade 7/10 overall. The letter (7.25x10.5") displays two horizontal folds. Although the letter is undated, it is accompanied by the original mailing envelope (7.5x4"; VG) that is postmarked "Jan 3 1956."
