Even with three road games left in the season, Ted Williams decided to call it a career on the final home game of 1960 as the second-division Red Sox came from behind to edge the Baltimore Orioles in a walk-off, 5-4. This 5.5x10" game program issued at Fenway Park that bittersweet afternoon is scored in bold and beautiful ink. On the cover, the words "Ted Williams Last Game" and "9/28/60" are written in the same blue ink. The scorecard shows some yellowing but is in EX condition. The Hall of Famer and last man to hit .400 went 1-3 on the day but was replaced in left field late in the game by career backup Carroll Hardy, who will forever be a footnote as a result. Williams went out with a highly respectable .316 average that season and remarkable .344 for his Hall of Fame career.
