Presented is one of the earliest known Type I photographs of Frank Robinson and we can determine this using the "Cincinnati" on front chest. Even though 1955 marked the last full season of the Reds using "Cincinnati" on the front of their jerseys, they did wear them during Spring Training of 1956. Numerous photographs confirm that Robinson did wear this style jersey in March of 1956, his first Spring Training in the big leagues. Robinson spent 21 years in the Major leagues, mostly for the Cincinnati Reds (1956-65) and the Baltimore Orioles (1966-71). He is the only player to have been an MVP in both leagues: In 1961 for the Cincinnati Reds, when he led the Reds to the NL pennant, and in 1966 for the Baltimore Orioles, as he helped the Orioles become World Champions. Robinson is a 14-time All-Star. He hit .300 or over nine times and clubbed at least 30 homers in 11 seasons. He managed five Major league teams, breaking the Major League "Color Line" against African American managers when he skippered the Cleveland Indians in 1975. The black and white photo measures 3.75x5". On the back of the photo is stamped "This photo May Not Be Rented Nor Used For Advertising Purposes. The Cincinnati Baseball Club Co," The photo has been encapsulated and PSA certified Type I AUTHENTIC.
