Displayed is a 1988 Major League All-Star Game stadium canvas banner. The '88 All-Star Game was held at Riverfront Stadium in Cincinnati, and the American League defeated the National League, 2-1. Frank Viola took the win for the AL and Dwight Gooden had the loss. Both AL runs were driven in by Terry Steinbach, one a bases empty home run in the third inning and the other a sacrifice fly in the fourth frame. The banner measures approx. 29.5x98" as a rectangular measurement, and the banner measures approx. 29.5x112.75" if the length measurement includes the 16.75" attached extensions. Large white letters and numerals on the front of the red banner, with blue stars, read, "All-Star Game 1988," and the banner has a sideways "1988 Cincinnati All-Star Game" blue and red logo. The banner has two large grommets for hanging. The back of the banner has no wording and features large white and blue stars on a red background. There is some paint loss, some small stains, and some minor creasing, particularly on the back of the banner. Overall, the banner is in very good condition.
