Pair of used Nike Air sneakers attributed to Jimmy Connors' inconceivable run at the 1991 US Open Tennis Championship. White leather shoes have color splashes at heel and tongue, US size 9 tags are sewn in each tongue. Use is evident, however, as is common with Nike sneakers of this era, the soles have dried and cracked from age, with the right in particular missing a significant portion of the sole. We can style match these to the ones worn by Connors at Flushing Meadows, though the absence of high-resolution images and the age damage to the soles makes it impossible to do a definitive photo-match. Nearing the end of his spectacular career, Connors - who turned 39 during that tournament and only qualified via a wild card berth - captivated viewing audiences across the country with his stirring, late-night 5-set victories over Patrick McEnroe and Aaron Krickstein, shockingly advancing to the semifinals before being ousted by Jim Courier. Comes with PSA cert for each verifying that these were Connors'.
