When Irish Eyes are smilin'... this bat was used by Paul O'Neill during the Yankees' ALCS grudge-match with the archrival Red Sox in 1999. But upon closer examination, one can see the right fielder's subtle tribute to his father, Charles, who died during that postseason at the age of 79. Underneath the 1999 branding on the barrel, there is a set of cartoon eyes drawn, as well as the word "dad" after the flame-burned letters L.C.S. The uncracked Louisville Slugger model #C243 ash bat weighs 35.1 ounces and measures 35 inches. There is evidence of moderate use, specifically a few ball marks and ball stitch impressions on the right barrel. Cleat marks are visible on the right and left barrel. The handle has been taped approximately 16" in a criss-cross pattern to enhance grip, and there's a light coat of pine tar on the upper handle. There's a Paul O'Neill signature and his #21 on the front barrel in blue marker. The Yankees repeated as World Series champs in 1999 and would win a third straight title in 2000. There has not been a repeat champion since. Comes with PSA/LOA.
