Larry Sheets Baltimore Orioles road jersey produced in 1987. This jersey appears to be a prototype, as this style was never worn by the club during the 1987 season. The gray knit jersey is lettered "Orioles" across the front and features the number "18" on the left breast and reverse. "Sheets" is lettered upon a gray nameplate on the reverse, directly above the number. All letters and numerals are applied in black on orange tackle twill. An Orioles team patch appears on the left sleeve. Located on the interior left front tail are a "Rawlings 46" label and a gray strip tag bearing the year and set number ("87 1"). Larry Sheets has signed the jersey in black marker (grading 8/10) on the left front tail. Rawlings was the supplier of jerseys for the Orioles in 1987, but the color scheme is different on this jersey, and team wore no patch on its sleeve in 1987. As such, this was most likely a sample style that was ultimately rejected by the club. The jersey is original as issued, and displays no wear.
