Very popular 1960s game worn Buffalo Bisons jersey, likely worn by center Billy Dea. First, this red sweater bears the "bottle cap" design that has become immensely popular with collectors. For background, a local Pepsi distributor also owned the team and tried to raise attention for both ventures by using the traditional Pepsi logo for the team, replacing the cola name with a script "Buffalo." While it's hard to say conclusively, Dea wore uniform number 12 during his nine seasons with the Bisons, spanning from 1958-59 to '66-67, making it most likely that he was its owner. Surprisingly lightweight, the jersey has remnants of a tag in the collar, the sleeves have been shortened by cutting, and terrific use includes several team repairs across the front. Based on it's overall condition, it seems likely that the sleeves were damaged beyond repair and eventually cut off as replacing the jersey was clearly not a priority. Logo on front is beautiful and entirely intact, number 12 on the back is original but has been retacked several times from so much use, and original tie is still intact at the neck area.
