Great set of catcher's equipment dating from the early 1900s includes mask, glove, and shin guards. Goldsmith tag is outside the thumb, mitt has buckskin palm and buckle wrist strap and is of a wonderful olden design, basically a large circular pad with a shallow pocket and a few thin laces instead of a modern-day webbing. Spalding mask has all original padding, buckle straps, and rust evident on the metallic surfaces. Shin guards have no maker identification but have all hardware and are in used but nice condition. As is to be expected, extensive use displayed includes cracking on some of the leather surfaces, but amazingly no laces appear cracked and all pieces are present. Just dress up a mannequin in a vintage uniform, pop these pieces on their corresponding areas, and you'll have a great antique look as the centerpiece of any collection.
