Signed 1964 Gabby Hartnett Hall of Fame postcard measures 3.5x5.5". This is the Artvue Type 2 version of the famed HoF plaque card, signed in crisp black ballpoint ink as Leo "Gabby" Hartnett on the bottom. There is also a date of "March 25, 1964," handwritten in the top left corner in the same color ink, though we are unsure if that is in Hartnett's hand. HoF postcards were only made by Artvue from 1953-63 (Type 2 started in 1956), and the white background cards are highly sought after. Back is blank except for Artvue's address. An outstanding all around player known for his hitting as well as his shotgun arm at the catcher position, Hartnett spent most of his career with the Chicago Cubs and was inducted into Cooperstown in 1955. Encapsulated by PSA with an exceptional MT 9 grade for the autograph.
