Presented is a Babe Ruth signed and inscribed photo. Nattily attired in his topcoat and hat, the Babe in this photo is ambiguous as to time and place. Apparently near the Babe in the photo is his luggage and a golf bag. Is the Bambino in knickers for street wear or for a round of golf? The black and white photo measures approx. 8x10". Stamped on back is "PHOTO BY Houston-Williams/Photo and Art Service/St. Petersburg, Fla." The Yankees began to conduct their spring training in St. Petersburg Florida in 1925, supposedly because the Yankees were looking for a more sedate spot than their previous home for spring training, New Orleans, Louisiana, because the team wanted a place less conducive to Babe Ruth's partying tendencies. The Yankees continued training in St. Petersburg through the 1961 season. It appears that the photo was taken in the late 1920s or early 1930s. Ruth has signed the photo near the bottom. The great slugger used a pen, writing in blue ink, to inscribe and signed, "Best Wishes, from Babe Ruth." PSA encapsulated.
