Official National League (Frick) ball signed in blue fountain pen by thirty former players, including several notable Hall of Fame players and stars, most of whom played during the early 1900s. Included here are the signatures of Cy Young, Jimmie Foxx, Frank Baker, Lefty Grove, Hans Lobert (sweet spot), Whitey Witt, Mike O'Neill (sweet spot), Lena Blackburne, Howard Ehmke, Al Lang (former mayor of St. Petersburg, Florida, who is credited with bring spring training to Florida), Roy Thomas, Max Bishop, Harry Coveleski (brother of Stan Coveleski), Huck Betts, Otto Knabe, Frank Bruggy, Wid Conroy, Fritz Henrich, Bill Black, Walter Keating, and Curley Ogden. There is a personalization on a side panel, but the name of the recipient is illegible. This ball dates to the 1949-1951 manufacturing period. While we are not sure where or when this ball was signed, given that the players were all long retired, it was most likely obtained at an Old Timers Day game or similar event. The signatures range from 5/10 to 9/10, averaging 7/10. The ball remains in Near Mint condition.
