1930 was the 13th and final season the legendary Knute Rockne coached the University of Notre Dame football team, and this was the official football review the school published commemorating that championship season. Just four months after the end of that 10-0 campaign, Rockne and seven others died in a plane crash. The coach contributed a page to the publication on which he expresses his thoughts about his final season. This book comes directly from our consignor's grandfather, who was one of the last team mangers and was sent to recover Rockne and bring his body back. His name is Dan Halpin and he is featured under the manager's page. There are also several autographs on player bio pages. Included in the lot are vintage photograph of the South Bend campus. The hard paper cover has some damage and is partially coming loose. The spine is worn but essentially intact. Most of the 112 pages are yellowed but only a handful are frayed. All told, the book is in reasonable shape despite the loose cover.
