The lot consists of a 1997 Grand Slam Ventures Masters Collection Gold Foil Tiger PSA 8, a 1997-99 Grand Slam Ventures Masters Collection (Sheet cut) Tiger BGS 9 (mint), and a 1997-99 Grand Slam Ventures Masters Collection (Sheet cut) Tiger SGC 96 (mint). The gold foil version is the best one of the group. The gold foil cards were issued in November 1997. The gold foil cards were offered exclusively to golf collectors who subscribed to the set in year’s prior and received the Gold Foil edition card for the Masters Champion each year or to those who purchased the boxed set in 1997. The Tiger’s graded by SGC and Beckett are both cut from sheets and are designated “sheet-cut”. The sheet cut cards are generally referred to as the “1997-1999” cards while the cards from the sets are referred to as the “1997” cards. At just 26 years of age, Tiger is already considered one of the greatest golfers of all-time.
