Original Type I photo depicts shutout king Walter Johnson, circa 1927. Johnson is shown dressed in Washington Senators' uniform dating from the late stages - and perhaps the final year - of his Hall of Fame career. Trimmed to approximately 5.75x9", the image displays minor but even toning, and there is residue of clear tape on each corner and upper middle (the excess tape has been trimmed away but some remnants are visible and it appears as though they are still affixed to the photo). Verso has editors' marks and a stamp from Keystone View Co. and part of another stamp from The Christian Science Monitor has been cut off. Encapsulated as PSA Type I Authentic. Johnson recorded an amazing 110 shutouts in his career, a record that may never be broken.
