Ruth is regarded by many as the best baseball player in history. Who else could have slugged more home runs than whole American League teams in the 1930s, set the long-held single-season homer record of 61, hold the career home run record of 714 until Hank Aaron broke it in 1974, and won both a batting title and an earned run average crown, plus going 94-46 as a pitcher?
