Stunning 1947 Babe Ruth single-signed baseball is hobby fresh and comes with impeccable provenance. Originally obtained by our consignor's father, Robert DeMeyer, who was a part of the John Regan Post No. 2 Regional No. 11 Champions in 1947 and had the ball signed at the Junior League banquet that Babe Ruth attended; this ball looks like it were signed yesterday. Official American League (Harridge) ball is as clean as a whistle, features near-perfect Reach manufacturer stamps and appears to have been in its box since the day it was signed. The ball also features an unusual "Midland Roundtable - Billings, Montana" stamp in red along with presumably Mr. DeMeyer's clearly written "Billings Montana 1947 - American Legion Junior Sectional Baseball Tournament" inscription in blue. The highlight however is obviously the Babe Ruth signature. Perfectly placed on the sweet spot, it is obvious to anyone who lays eyes on it that Ruth took his time with this specimen. Bright, blue, and bold, this PSA MINT 9 signature is arguably the nicest we've ever encountered and believe that if the ball hadn't been inscribed, it could be a $300,000 ball. Incredible and rock solid provenance makes this ball even better, a true piece of history and includes: 1) Two original photos taken at the event, both featuring Babe Ruth. One is of the entire banquet, and the other is Robert with Ruth and others. 2) Letter to Robert from the company that ran the banquet, stating they finally have the photos that were taken of him (ones mentioned above). 3) Robert's Junior League Baseball membership card. 4) Two signed score cards from the tournament itself including Robert's teammate and future Major Leaguer Vern Law. Vern stated that he received a signed Babe Ruth ball at the tournament and that made him decide to play Major League baseball. 5) Robert's Championship jacket. 6) Robert's catcher's equipment used in the tournament. 7) Newspaper article clippings. 8) Robert's equipment bag. 9) Original ball box. 10) Two pens. Comes with PSA MINT 9 LOA.
