2012 Super Bowl XLVI game used football signed by quarterbacks Eli Manning and Tom Brady. Nice use is displayed throughout this Official NFL "The Duke" (Goodell) ball, which has the SB SLVI logo painted on one panel along the laces, with the other stamped with "New York Giants - New England Patriots - Indianapolis - February 5, 2012." The panel immediately below is signed by Manning in 8/10 silver paint pen with inscription "SB XLVI MVP." The panel below the game logo is stamped PATRIOTS and is signed by Brady in 9/10 silver paint pen. This was the second Super Bowl meeting between the franchises, with the Giants having spoiled New England's quest for only the second perfect season in modern NFL history in SB XLII just four years earlier. A pair of Brady TD tosses staked the Pats to a 17-9 lead in the 3rd quarter, though a pair of field goals trimmed the margin to two points as the contest entered its final minutes. With the Giants driving and a minute to play, New England elected to allow Ahmad Bradshaw to score a touchdown as NY could have run the clock out and kicked an easy field goal. The strategy put the ball back in Brady's hands with a 21-17 deficit and just 57 seconds left, but again the Giants would prevail, giving Manning one of the few career points of any QB over the GOAT, with a 2-0 head-to-head record in the Big Game.
