Historic bat dates from the last American League game of the Washington Senators on September 30, 1971. Over 40 signatures dot this uncracked Don Mincher game issued bat, with black marker signatures averaging 8/10, highlighted by Hall of Famers Ted Williams and Nellie Fox. Tremendous inscription lists the linescore of the Senators' 7-5 victory over the New York Yankees, with print inscription reading, "RFK Stadium - Washington D.C. - Last American League Game..." and below, "... Game Forfeited to New York After 8 2/3 Innings - Fans on Field Prevented Further Play." Amazing artifact from the closing of one chapter in baseball history with the franchise's departure from DC - only to have another chapter opened over 30 years later when the Montreal Expos moved to become the Washington Nationals in 2005.
