Displayed is a circa 1910s Type I 6.2x8.8" original photograph from the Photo File Archive Collection. Hall of Fame immortal center fielder Tris Speaker batted .345 lifetime, with 3,514 hits and a still Major League record of 792 doubles. Speaker played 22 Major League seasons, mostly for the Boston Red Sox and the Cleveland Indians. Speaker played an extremely shallow center field and he was known for his great ability to go back for fly balls. he often was involved in force-outs and double plays by quickly throwing ground balls to the outfield into nearby second base. Gavvy Cravath played his first two seasons in the American League and then played the remainder of his career with the Philadelphia Phillies. The right fielder hit .287 lifetime in the Major Leagues and had his best season in 1913, when he batted .341 and led the National League in hits (179), homers (19), RBIs (128), and slugging (.568). Hand printed in pencil on the back of the photo is "Cravath-Speaker." The Type I photo appears to have been hand trimmed, and the white margin on the top of the photo is uneven. The photo has some very minor creasing, but overall is in Good condition, and it comes with a PSA LOA. Also included is a Chuck Singer signed certification that the photo comes from the Photo File Archive.
