Rare and terrific 1990-91 Minnesota North Stars jersey game worn early in the magnificent career of Hall of Famer Mike Modano. Jersey is 100% original and shows really nice use with team repairs on the left sleeve, stick marks, pilling, and some burns. Maksa tag is in collar with handwritten size "54" in blue ink. The North Stars' N with Star crest is across the chest in green and yellow 3-D style and a smaller version resides on each shoulder above number 9 in green-on-yellow. Same 3-D style number is on back below name on a plate in all-green letters. CCM and NHL shield are embroidered on tail and fight strap is intact. After finishing with 75 points and placing second in Rookie-of-the-Year balloting in his freshman campaign, Modano wore this top in his second season, adding 28 goals in '90-91 and serving notice that he was a phenom in the making. After 21 years in the NHL, his 557 career goals has placed him in most experts' top three all time among American-born players. Speaking to the jersey's scarcity, Mike played his first four seasons in Minnesota before the franchise relocated to Dallas to become the Stars, for whom he performed for 16 more seasons. As it has been almost 30 years since the North Stars last took the ice, jerseys of that era are hard enough to come by, but one from the man who would become the franchise's most famous (and popular) player ever is certainly a premium item.
