Displayed is a babe Ruth handwriting cut that originates from Ruth's personal collection. The cut is taken from lined paper, and it measures approx. 0.61x2". On the cut in Ruth's big and bold, neat handwriting, in blue ink from a fountain pen, is the word "Arthur." The context of the word is unknown. The "Arthur" cut has been affixed to the front of a (c) 2019 National Baseball Hall of Fame Babe Ruth postcard. The postcard has not been addressed, and it contains no other writing. The face of the card shows Ruth's Hall of Fame plaque. One of the ironies of the Bambino's greatness is that his Hall of Fame plaque mentions his 714 home runs, but does not even address his great pitching, with his 94-46 lifetime record, 2.28 ERA and his once Major League record of throwing 29.2 consecutive shut-out innings in World Series competition. The postcard and attached cut are in excellent condition. The "Arthur" cut has been encapsulated and certified AUTHENTIC by Beckett Authentication Services.
