Two-page handwritten letter (on each side of a single sheet), undated on "The Brooklyn Dodgers" letterhead, signed by Jackie Robinson. Although the letter is undated, it is accompanied by the original mailing envelope that is postmarked "Mar 4 1955." In his letter, written while he was in Florida during spring training, Robinson writes to promoter Ted Worner regarding a few unspecified projects. In part:
. . . I am sure you understand that anything I go into has to have tremendous potential. . . . I am still up for the idea but cannot rush the other things I have unless enough interest is stirred to make me see the possibilities. The thing we will have to do is make a couple of test cases and then see where we are going. I will talk to you more when I get into N.Y. but you must in the meantime show me more than talk. . . . I would like to help others as well as myself so whatever has the greatest potential will be my work. . . .
Signed simply "Jack." Both the signature and text are scripted in blue ink and grade 9/10. The letter (7.25x10.25") displays two horizontal folds, as well as a few light creases and tiny areas of discoloration. In Very Good condition overall. The envelope (7.5x4") remains in Good condition, with a few small tears. Full LOA from PSA.
