Pair of original game-used 1977 World Series dugout lineup cards, issued for the New York Yankees and Los Angeles Dodgers respectively, each signed by one or more members of the New York Yankees and Los Angeles Dodgers, as well as actor Ed Lauter. These lineup cards have a unique provenance. Our consignor's father was a Los Angeles police officer who worked as an on-field security guard at Dodger Stadium in his off hours. It was in that capacity that he was able to obtain these cards and also procure the autographs on each. World Series game-used dugout lineup cards are exceedingly rare and seldom seen at auction. The fact that these come with exceptional provenance, and are signed by many of the participating players, makes them especially desirable.

The New York Yankees card was used during Game 4 at Dodgers Stadium on October 15th, which was won by the Yankees 4-2. It has been signed in black ink on the front by the following twelve members of the New York Yankees: Martin (Mgr.), Berra (coach), Hunter, Jackson, Lyle, Torrez, Dent, Nettles, Chambliss, Piniella, C. Johnson, and Rivers. One of the celebrities in attendance that night was Ed Lauter, who inscribed the top of the card to the officer's four sons: "To Dave + Matthew + Mark + Donovan Best Wishes Ed Lauter." (The signatures average 6/10). The card (9x14") displays wear commensurate with its use, including five horizontal folds, light creasing, a few small edge tears, and light adhesive/paper loss on the reverse from having once been mounted in a framed display.

The Dodgers card was used during Game 3 at Dodgers Stadium on October 14th, which was won by the Yankees 5-3. It has been signed in black ink by Reggie Smith (grading 6/10). The card (9x14") displays wear commensurate with its use, including a few light creases, as well as adhesive/paper loss on the front corners and reverse from having once been mounted in a framed display. Included with the cards are two 1977 World Series Dodgers Stadium field passes (3x9"; each VG with a horizontal fold and adhesive residue on the reverse). One is signed in black ink on the front by Pete Sheehy (Yankees legendary clubhouse man) and Don Gullett, and on the reverse by actress Lindsay Wagner ("The Bionic Woman"). Signatures average 7/10.
