The premier third baseman of his era and owner of a swing so perfect, it even drew compliments from one of the biggest critics of the modern ballplayer, Ty Cobb. Heavily responsible for the turn around of the Braves franchise during the fifties, Eddie Mathews is a Hall of Famer whose statistics sometimes belie his true excellence. 1973 Eddie Mathews, Atlanta Braves red, white, and blue, visitor’s jersey. “Braves, 41” on front chest and “41” on back. Special white letters and numbers are stitched twice over, giving them a red border. Braves emblem on both sleeves. “Sand Knit, size 44” tagged in collar with “44-73-Set 2” strip tag. Shows tremendous game use from the days when Eddie coached another great, Hank Aaron.
