On April 8, 1975, almost thirty years after Jackie Robinson made his Major League debut, Frank Robinson broke another of baseball's longstanding color barriers when he became the first African American manager in MLB history. Offered here is a rare ticket stub and signed program from that historic game. The ticket stub, issued for a game against the New York Yankees at Cleveland Stadium, is for an "Upper Box" seat and features a stamped "P" on the front. 1.5x2.5". Good condition overall, with a staple hole along the top. The program has been signed on the front cover in blue Sharpie by both Frank Robinson (grading 10/10) and Gaylord Perry (10/10). Neatly scored in pencil to record a 5-3 Indians victory. 8.5x11". Excellent condition overall. Frank Robinson was player/manager of the club that year and he helped his own cause in his managerial debut by hitting a solo home run in the first inning. Gaylord Perry went the distance in the win for the Indians. A desirable combination of ticket stub and signed program from one of the most significant games in the history of racial equality in baseball.
