The once elegant brown robe touched true greatness. How many of those 145 professional wins did this robe witness? How many of Kid Chocolate’s 64 KO’s? Chances are that number is pretty high, considering he only lost 10 fights over the course of his professional career. The tattered robe and worn felt lettering, “CHOCOLATE KID” on the back tell the tale of an old legend. The Cuban sensation was undefeated in 21 fights (all by KO) before he came to America in 1928. He became a fan favorite in New York during the 1920’s & 30’s, dazzling fans with his quickness. This is the robe he wore stepping into the ring. Scattered repairs throughout and quite a few holes, but the significance and rarity is of the utmost importance.
