Collection of football garments worn by defensive back Mike Sensibaugh during both his collegiate and NFL career. All the items in this collection originate directly from Sensibaugh's estate (he died in 2001). Sensibaugh was a standout safety on Ohio State's 1968 National Championship team and he is still the school's career leader in interceptions with twenty-two. After graduation he was drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs, where he played for five seasons. He ended his NFL career with the St. Louis Cardinals in 1978. The highlight of this collection is Sensibaugh's Ohio State white-mesh practice jersey, which features the number "3" on the front and reverse. The remainder of the collection consists of the following: 1-3) Three Kansas City Chiefs white short-sleeve practice shirts. Each is lettered "Kansas City Chiefs" on the front. One features Sensibaugh's name and number ("20") on the reverse, while another features just his number on the reverse. 4-7) Four long-sleeve practice shirts. Each shirt features a white or gray body with red sleeves. Because the color schemes for Ohio State, Kansas City, and St. Louis were similar, it is not known for certain if these date from his collegiate or NFL career. 8-10) Three pair of socks. One features the Chiefs red/gold/white color scheme, while the other two are red and white. 11) Kansas City Chiefs small nylon duffel bag. The bag features the Chiefs team logo on one end. All the garments display heavy wear and are in Very Good condition overall.
