Vintage 1950s autograph album, featuring over 100 baseball-player signatures, the highlight of which is a rookie-era Mickey Mantle signature. Mantle's signature has been scripted in blue ink and grades 8/10 overall. Based upon the other signatures in the album and their listed team affiliations (as noted in pencil by the original owner), this album was compiled in the early 1950s. As such, the Mantle signature dates from around the time of his Major League debut in 1951. In addition to Mantle, the album also features the signatures of the following eleven Hall of Famers: Wynn, Feller, Ford, Musial, Slaughter, Spahn, Lopez, Mize, Berra, Wilhelm, and Schoendienst. Each signature in the album appears individually on a single page (one signature appears on each side of single page), with most of the pages also featuring a small affixed newspaper or magazine photo of the respective signer. At the base of each page, the original owner has written the player's name and team affiliation in pencil. A total of 116 signatures appear in the book, all but two of which are those of professional baseball players. The signatures, scripted in a variety of inks, average 8/10. A few of the signatures are in form of cuts affixed to the page and a few included personalizations. The hardbound album (6x3") remains in Excellent condition overall. Full LOA from JSA.
