Mickey Mantle had an irreverent sense of humor and he often liked to shock his friends when asked to sign a baseball. This ball is one such example and has been inscribed "Best Fuckin Wishes - Mickey Mantle" on a side panel. Both the signature and inscription have been scripted in black ink and grade 6/10 overall. This is one of three such Mickey Mantle specially inscribed baseballs in this auction, all of which originate from one of Mantle's very close, personal friends. We don't know if Mantle ever signed another ball with this exact inscription, but we have never seen or heard of another example. This is the first time this ball has ever been offered for sale, publicly or privately. The official American League (Brown) ball displays light scattered age toning and is otherwise in Near Mint condition.
