Tremendous 1973 Topps #100 Hank Aaron card is as good as it gets, graded PSA GEM MT 10. A few notes on the '73 Topps set add to the allure of this card in that it was the final year that the company issued its cards in series, and occasional centering issues added to the difficulty in finding perfect versions - as such, this is one of just POP 7 in the PSA report, an amazing scarcity for the era. This was the season in which Hammerin' Hank's chase for Babe Ruth's career home run record truly came into focus, as he blasted 40 homers on the season to finish with 713, just one shy of the Bambino's mark. Of course, he hit homer number 714 on Opening Day of the 2014 campaign against Jack Billingham in Cincinnati on April 4, needing just four more days to break the record at Atlanta's Fulton County Stadium by launching number 715 against Al Downing and the Los Angeles Dodgers on April 8.
