Extraordinary ball - dual-signed by no less than Ty Cobb and Honus Wagner - was obtained at the 1946 Esquire All American Boys Game. A limited number of balls of this type were most likely presented to a contest winner, as a similar ball sold back in 2009 with same signatures, in the same place, with same inscription by Cobb, on the same type of ball and even same pen color. The consignor of that ball said he met Cobb at the game and was presented the signed ball by both managers. PSA LOA indicates an overall grade of 6.5, with both signatures rating 6/10 (though Wagner presents stronger) and the ball grading 7 overall. The Georgia Peach has added the date of 8/6/48 with his signature while Wagner's inscription reads "Pirates." Cobb and Wagner were managers of the East and West teams for this high school all-star game with over 20,000 fans in attendance, played at Wrigley Field on August 10, 1946. Note that Cobb's inscription dates the ball as four days before the game, lending some credence to the theory that balls were signed in advance.
